July 20 (Downhill Day)

• TRAINING PLAN •

For Everyone:

Because many of the riders made such big efforts on Saturday, today’s ride will be a fun recovery ride. It will also be an awesome opportunity to work on downhill skills- cornering, ready position, braking, etc. Switch up the rider order often in order for all riders to be coached well. Ride to the speed of the slowest rider. Good coaching to help riders progress safely will be important.

We will have parents and ride leaders shuttling riders to trails appropriate for their skill level. Try to get as many laps in as a safe pace allows. We will still be riding in ride groups with a ride leader at the front and back of each group. We are not doing jump lines to intentionally launch our bikes. If riders are intentionally jumping, changes to the ride plan should be made.

We will meet at Little Valley to get into assigned cars for shuttling. Shuttle drivers will drop off at Eagle Ridge Trailhead and pick-up at South Maple Hollow Trailhead. Repeat as time allows. On the last trip of the day, all groups should be dropped off at Maple Hollow Trailhead Park (half-cul de sac with green space) to ride back to Little Valley where parents will pick-up. Make sure you start this trail with enough time to ride back to Little Valley.
