July 30 (Andy Ballard) Easter Egg Hunt

• TRAINING PLAN •

For Everyone:

Our team captains, Patrick and Mia, think it is time for some fun. Because as we all agree, riding bikes is fun! And what is more fun than an Easter Egg hunt while we ride at practice today.

The team will be randomly divided into four groups and each group will ride on assigned trails searching for two golden eggs. Once two eggs are collected, the teams ride back to the trailhead to solve the word puzzle in the eggs. We will give the ride leaders the location of the eggs so they won’t be missed. It is not a race between groups, just a fun ride to spend time with riders you might not always ride.

The goal of today is to meet other teammates that you don’t usually get to ride with. We will have popsicles after practice for anyone who can tell us something new they learned about one of their teammates. So do your best to remember new names and ask lots of questions as we pedal.

This might be a good ride to talk about the goals riders set for themselves back in June and check-in to see how their progress is coming or if they want to adjust their goals knowing what they do after 2 months of riding. It is a good time to discuss the “why” of mountain biking that we each have.

We have roughly equal numbers of new riders on the team and returning riders in each group. Use this ride to also ask questions about race day!! It will be a great ride to make new friends and learn from each other’s experiences.

Happy hunting!
